DAY 1: FRANKFURT – BUCHAREST
Arrival at the airport in Bucharest. Receipt of the Romanian guide and transfer to the hotel. In the evening there will be a festive dinner at Pescarus Restaurant. O/B H. Caro 3*
DAY 2: BUCHAREST – SIBIU
In the morning travel to Curtea de Arges through Pitesti. Visit Arges Monastery built in Wallachian style. Travel forward to Transylvania and make a quick stop to Cozia Monastery (14-th century), one of the oldest churches in Romania. Travel through Turnu Rosu Pass to Sibiu. D/O/B H. Continental 3*
DAY 3: THE FORTIFIED CHURCHES
After breakfast travel north to Kokestal. First stop is the fortified church of Axente Sever, next the Margaret’s Church in Medias. Here you can see the biggest “Wind Mill Museum” in Romania. Travel to Sighisoara and visit the Clock Tower, the birthplace of Dracula and the Hill Church. In the afternoon you will make a quick stop at the biggest Saxon fortified church in Romania. Biertan has been the seat of the evangelic Bishop of Transylvania until the end of 19-th century. In the evening, wine tasting and festive dinner at “Butoiul de Aur” Restaurant. O/B H. Continental 3*
DAY 4: SIBIU
The day starts with a city tour of Sibiu. Visit Piata Mica si Piata Mare in the old city center and also the Lairs’ Bridge. Then visit the evangelic cathedral, the seat of today’s bishopric. Dracula’s son, Mihnea the Evil is buried here. You will also visit the “Village Museum” in Dumbrava Sibiului. In the evening travel to Sibiel to visit the Glass Icons Museum. You will have dinner at a peasant’s home nearby. O/B H. Continental 3*
DAY 5: SIBIU – BAIA MARE
After breakfast travel west to Sebes and visit the Gothic Church and the Clock Tower. Then you will make a quick stop in Alba Iulia, visit the 13-th century cathedral (the seat of the catholic Bishop in Transylvania) and the old city fortress, built by Eugene de Savoy. In the afternoon travel to Cluj-Napoca and make a city tour. Here you will see Matei Corvin’s statue (one of the greatest Hungarian kings). Arrival in Baia Mare. D/O/B H. Carpati 3*
DAY 6: BAIA MARE – CAMPULUNG MOLDOVENESC
Travel north to the Hungarian border. In Sapanta you can visit the Merry Cemetery. On each cross there is a merry little poem about the person buried there. This is how the local people chaff death. Next travel through Iza Valley to Bucovina. On the way there visit “Dintr-un lemn” Monastery (“Made-of-one-peace-of-wood”), Rozovlea and Bogdan Voda churches, that resemble the wood churches in Norway. In the afternoon travel through Prislop Pass in Eastern Carphatians to northern Moldavia. D/O/B H. Zimbru 3*
DAY 7: FRIDAY: MONASTERIES TOUR
After breakfast travel to Moldovita Monastery that is known world wide for the frescos on the external walls. The nuns will tell you about the simbol of the orthodox belief. Then travel through Obcina Mountain to Sucevita Monastery where you can see different scenes from the bible as well as the history of the Romanian people painted on the frescos of the external walls. Travel further to the pottery center in Marginea where you can see the old technique of burning black ceramics.
In the afternoon visit the “Sistine Chapel” of Romania at Voronet Monastery. Here you can admire a beautiful display of Judgment Day.

DAY 8: CAMPULUNG MOLDOVENESC – PIATRA NEAMT
Start the day traveling south. First stop is Neamt Monastery that was founded by the prince Stefan the Great in the 15-th century. Then visit Agapia and Varatec monasteries. These are amongst the biggest in Europe, each counting over one thousand nuns and monks. Here you can visit the workshops as well as the museums. In the afternoon arrival at Piatra Neamt. Short city tour, visit to St. Nicolas Church that was founded by the prince Stefan the Great. D/O/B H. Central 3*
DAY 9: PIATRA NEAMT – TULCEA
After breakfast travel south of Moldavia, a land very rich in vineyards. Then travel to Galati, the biggest harbour of the Danube. Travel to Dobrogea taking a trip along the Danube and arrive to Tulcea, the “gateway” to Danube Delta. D/O/B H. Delta 3*
DAY 10: DANUBE DELTA
In the morning travel by boat on the Danube along the Sulina Channel to Mila 36 Channel. You will see the pelicans on the Fortuna Lake.
A warm meal on board is included. In the afternoon back to Tulcea from Nebunu Lake. D/O/B H. Delta 3*
DAY 11: TULCEA – PREDEAL
After breakfast return to Valachia passing the Danube and then the Prahova valley to Predeal. O/B H. Rozmarin 3*
DAY 12: PREDEAL
In the morning travel to Brasov, make a city tour and visit the Black Church (the biggest gothic church in Eastern Europe), the old City Hall as well as the orthodox church in the old center of the city. In the afternoon you will visit the Saxon fortified church in the northern part of Brasov. The fortified churches of Harman and Prejmer have deffended the city against Turkish invasion for hundreds of years. D/O/B H. Rozmarim 3*
DAY 13: PREDEAL
Travel to Sinaia to visit Peles Castle. This was the summer residence of the Romanian royal family of Hohenzoller. Then you can visit Sinaia monastery that was built in 17-th century by monks from “Sinai Mountain” which later gave the name of the town. In the afternoon you will visit Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle. D/O/B H. Rozmarin 3*
DAY 14: PREDEAL – BUCURESTI – FRANKFURT
In the morning travel to Bucharest, the capital of Romania. After the city tour trasfer to the airport and fly home.
