Day 1 Frankurt-Bucharest-Poiana Brasov
Arrival on the airport Otopeni in Bucharest. Here we meet our local guide and we continue our way to the mountains. We arrive in the afternoon in Poiana Brasov. D/O/B H Sport 3*
Day 2 the surroundings of Poiana Brasov
In the morning we drive towards Bran. Here we visit the castle, which is also known as Dracula Castle. Afterwards we drive to Sinaia, where we visit the Peles Castle (the summer residence of the Romanian royal family). Here we also visit the Sinaia monastery, which was built in 17th century by the monks from the Sinai Peninsula. The town was named after their name. In the afternoon we get back to Brasov, where we visit the Black Church(the largest gothic building in eastern Europe), the old City Hall and the orthodox church of the old city center. Day 3 Poiana-Brasov-Iasi
After breakfast we drive towards north. On our way to the city of Iasi we visit the fortified Church from Prejmer. We drive further until we reach the Red Lake at Bicaz Gorges. Afterwards we drive to Moldovia, where in the afternoon we arrive in the City of Iasi, one of the largest cities in Romania. Here we visit the Metropolitan Church. D/O/B H Moldova 3*
Day 4 Iasi-Suceava
In the morning we start our city tour by visiting the Palace of Culture and the Church ”Trei Ierarhi”. Afterwards we drive towards Suceava. D/O/B; H Continental 3*
Day 5 Tour of the Monasteries/part I
In the morning we visit the old part of the Town Suceava. Here we can see the old fort, the cathedral and the Saint John Monastery. The next stop is the visit at the Putna Monastery, which was built at the orders of Stefan the Great. After a short drive we arrive in Radauti, where we visit the Bogdan Curch, one of the oldest in the entire country (14th century). The last monastery planed for today is the Dragormirna Monastery. Day 6 Tour of the Monasteries/Part II
One of the most beautiful monasteries in the Moldavian region is the Humor monastery. Here we can admire the unique mural paintings and then we have the chance to compare them with the ones from the Monastery Sucevita, where the mural paintings present scenes from the Bible and as well scenes from the History of Romanians. The Moldovita Monastery and the Voronet monastery, known also as “The Sixtine Chapel” of Romania are our next places of interest. The Voronet church is famous world wide for its blue color. Day 7 Suceava-Sighisoara(Wine Tasting in the Seuca winery)
In the morning we cross the city of Campulung Moldovenesc and we drive further through the Tihuta Pass into Transylvania. The first stop is in Bistrita, where we visit the evangelic church. After crossing the City of Targu Mures we arrive at the Seuca cellar and we enjoy an unforgettable wine tasting having famous wine assortiments from the Kokeltal region. The nex attraction for today is the Sighisoara Town. Here we visit the Clock Tower, Dracula’s birthplace and the Church on the Hill. D/O/B H Kokeltal 3*
Day 8 Sighisoara-Sibiu-Calimanesti
After breakfast we start our day by visiting the Biertan fortified church. Here was located the residence of the evangelic bishops until the 19th century. After a few minutes drive we arrive in Medias, one of the seven Saxon middle ages towns. Here we visit the Margaret Church with the largest winged altar in the entire country. We go further by bus, to Sibiu, the city which in 2007 was the European Cultural Capital City. during tour by foot in Sibiu we visit the Small and the Large Square, the Bridge of Lies and the evangelic Church. At noontime we leave the city of Sibiu heading towards Walachia, on our way passing through the Cisnadioara and Cisnadie Villages and as well the Red Tower Pass. D/O/B H Calimanesti 3*
Day 9 Calimanesti-Curtea de Arges-Bucharest
The Curtea de Arges Monastery opens its gates for us. In the former times this was the capital of Walachia. After a visit at another splendid monastery from the 14th century, the Cozia Monastery, we drive further to Bucharest. We arrive in the capital of Romania , where we are invited to a festive dinner with folklore show at the Restaurant Pescarus. O/B H Central 3*
Day 10 Bucharest-Frankfurt
In the morning we have the Bucharest city tour. The highlights of the city are the Patriarchal Curch, the Palace of the Parliament(the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon) and the open air museum, the Village Museum. After the city tour we drive to the airport where we say goodbye to our bus driver and local guide and we fly back home.
